Dr. Swartz has been an epileptologist for 20 years with extensive background in presurgical evaluation, neurocognitive testing, neuroimaging, antiepileptic drug trials, women’s and elderly issues. After graduating from Chapman University with honors, she simultaneously received her MD and PhD in Pharmacology from UCLA and then trained at The Neurological Institute New York, Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, in neurology. This was followed by a two year epilepsy and EEG fellowship at UCLA and the West LA VA Medical Center. She served as faculty at both UCLA, where she earned tenure, and Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, where she directed the Adult and Pediatric Comprehensive Epilepsy Program at University Hospital, before coming to Southern California where she has built the Epilepsy Center at Hoag Hospital. |
